Lists on the Rocks, & Philosophy From Behind the Bar
All the Internet loves a list; this is where you'll find our growing collection. You'll also find articles that take you a little more in depth about the thought processes that go into the site's lists and reviews, our rating scale, and more!
THE LISTS
Everyone on the Internet loves lists! (You asked for them, so here you go!)

Big Screen 2014: Highlights, Lowlights, & Surprises
This list doesn’t cover every movie I saw on a big screen in 2014 – not even close – but it’s not meant to.  Here’s a quick tour of ten high and lowlights of my 2014 theatre going experience.
Ziggy's 18 Essential Films: 2014 Edition
What if you were stuck on a (comfortable and very well-stocked) lifeboat for two years, and had a media player that could only store eighteen movies? Which ones would you pick? These were Ziggy's choices as of September 14, 2014, in celebration of the site's anniversary.
Ziggy's 18 Essential Films: 2012 Edition
What if you were stuck on a (comfortable and very well-stocked) lifeboat for two years, and had a media player that could only store eighteen movies? Which ones would you pick? These were Ziggy's choices as of September 14, 2012, in celebration of the site's anniversary.

PHILOSOPHY FROM BEHIND THE BAR
These are articles that provide insight into how I think about movies and why I write reviews the way I do, along with other discussions.

Apples vs. Oranges / Best vs. Favorite
Critics, award shows, and regular moviegoers alike tend to be obsessed with the concept of "the best," but I think that past a certain threshold, art just can't be measured that way. In the end, it's subjective, and it all comes down to favorites.
Why I Don't Use Stars or Numeric Ratings
You've probably noticed I don't use a standard critic's rating scale. Here's why I went with cheese and alcohol instead.
The Worst Thing I Can Say About Your Project
Think the worst thing that I - or anyone else, for that matter - can say about your project is that "it sucks"? Guess again.
